Apply for child care fee subsidy
The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program lowers child care costs for children under the age of six at participating child care programs. No application is needed for this reduction. This program currently keeps parent fees at no more than $22 per day for eligible children.
In addition to reduced fees through the CWELCC program, families may also be eligible for further financial support through Oxford County’s Child Care Fee Subsidy program. This program helps eligible families pay for licensed child care, before or after school programs, and/or summer programs. Child care fee subsidies are available for parents or guardians who are working or going to school or families approved through special needs referral.
If you are seeking child care fee subsidy for a child based on a social or medical need, please download this Therapeutic Referral Form and have your designated social services or health care professional complete it.
To be eligible for child care fee subsidy, you must:
- live in Oxford County and have a child 12 years or younger
- have been contacted by a licensed child care operator and have a Confirmation of Care form
- meet the income criteria based on your most recent Notice of Assessment (NOA)
- have an approved reason for care, such as working (including self-employment), going to school, have a social or medical need confirmed by a designated professional, or, have a child with a social or medical need confirmed by a designated professional

The Child Care Subsidy program is not able to help you find a child care space. If you are looking for a child care space, you can explore the options and apply to child care programs through OneList.

Before you start your Child Care Subsidy application, use the calculator below to estimate your financial eligibility based on your household's net income. Based on the information you provide, that calculator will let you know if you may be eligible for financial support for child care. This eligibility calculation provides only a basic estimate of the total monthly amount your family may pay for all children to attend licensed child care and does not confirm actual eligibility.
To use this calculator you will need the information from your Federal Notice of Assessment (NOA) or Canada Child Benefit Notice. If you do not have this information, please call Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-8281.
