Woodstock downtown collection
Beginning October 6, 2026, businesses and residents in downtown Woodstock will receive twice-weekly garbage and green bin organics collection every Tuesday and Friday, with adjustments for statutory holidays. A new collection zone in Woodstock, Zone 5a, has been added for the downtown corridor.
This change applies only to the Dundas Street corridor and laneways between Vansittart Avenue and Wilson Street.
There are no changes to blue box recycling for business, collected once a week on Tuesday, or residential recycling, which is collected every six business days under the regular Zone 5 schedule.
The new collection schedule is an interim change in effect to December 31, 2026, until a permanent schedule and budget funding is confirmed by Oxford County and City of Woodstock Councils.
Information meeting
Oxford County and the City of Woodstock are hosting an information meeting to explain the collection changes and answer questions about waste collection in downtown Woodstock. The meeting is open to both businesses and residents.

What’s changing
Corridor area
New collection days for garbage and green bins apply to the Dundas Street corridor and laneways only, between Vansittart Avenue and Wilson Street. The regular six-day collection schedule remains in place for side streets and the rest of Zone 5.
Set-out time
Please set out your garbage and green bin no later than 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
Recycling
Residential blue box recycling collection is not changing. Separate recycling collection schedules will continue for businesses and residents.
