Oxford Road 2 (Dundas Street) corridor improvements, Thamesford
About this project
Oxford County is making improvements to the Thamesford downtown corridor (Oxford Road 2/ Dundas Street) in Zorra Township. These improvements are based on recommendations from a comprehensive corridor study and are intended to accommodate increased traffic volumes associated with ongoing and future developments in the area.
Key features currently in design include:
Traffic operations
- Installation of a two-way left-turn lane along Dundas Street
- Removal of on-street parking
- Safety improvements for all road users
Intersection and crossing improvements
- Installation of new traffic signals at George Street
- Relocation of George Street pedestrian crossover to Stanley Street
Pedestrian and safety improvements
- Pedestrian and accessibility upgrades at key locations
- Streetlighting improvements
We want to hear from you
Consultation with residents and other stakeholders is a key component of the design process and input will be sought throughout the project. A second Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held to allow the public to view plans and discuss the planned improvements with Public Works Engineering staff and the consultant design team.
The Public Information Centre will be held:
Monday, June 8, 2026 | 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
A formal presentation will be delivered at 5:15 p.m. followed by a question and answer period
Thamesford District Recreation Centre (large hall)
85 Middleton Street, Thamesford
Following feedback gathered during the first PIC, a presentation will be delivered to share updates to the design; review key points and feedback received to date; provide an overview of the proposed construction timing, staging and anticipated impacts; and discuss the long-term improvements under consideration.
