Oxford Road 2 (Dundas Street) corridor improvements, Thamesford
About this project
Oxford County is making improvements to Oxford Road 2 (Dundas Street) between 15th Line and Oxford Road 119 in Thamesford in Zorra Township. These improvements are based on recommendations from a comprehensive corridor study and are intended to accommodate increased traffic volumes, support continued growth in Thamesford, and improve safety for all road users.
Work on Oxford Road 2 includes the following:
- new traffic signals installed at George Street;
- speed feedback signs installed near the east and west limits of Thamesford;
- existing pedestrian crossover relocated from George Street to Stanley Street;
- two-way left-turn lane installed between Stanley Street and Allen Street;
- on-street parking removed along the project corridor;
- upgrades to the existing traffic signals at Allen Street/St. Patrick Street;
- localized curb, sidewalk, boulevard, pavement-marking, and signage improvements;
- construction of concrete medians and pedestrian accessibility improvements at key locations; and,
- targeted streetlighting improvements associated with the Stanley Street pedestrian crossover and the George Street and Allen Street/St. Patrick Street traffic signals.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September 28, and is expected to continue through November 2026.

A pre-construction meeting will be held to allow the public to view drawings; learn the construction timeline, plans for managing traffic and property access in the construction area; and speak with the project team.
