Earth Day in Oxford County
Oxford County is celebrating Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This year's theme is Our Power, Our Planet, inviting everyone around the globe to focus on renewable energy.
Oxford County identified Enhancing Environmental Sustainability as one of the key foundation pillars in the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, with the specific goal of developing a Climate Action Plan. This plan will identify the most urgent risks for Oxford residents and propose projects to help reduce the impact of these risks.
Oxford County’s Renewable Energy Action Plan outlines a road map for how the County, as an organization, will contribute to the renewable energy goals at its facilities. The goals of this plan are to reduce energy dependence and greenhouse gas emission sources and increase renewable energy generation on property owned and operated by the Oxford County organization.
