Annual fall watermain maintenance (swabbing) begins in Princeton on September 21, 2026
Annual fall watermain maintenance (swabbing) begins in Princeton on Monday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m., and runs until Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. Water service will be off periodically overnight for three (3) nights from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Water service will be restored during the day.
When watermains are swabbed, it is important that residents in Princeton connected to the municipal water system do not turn on their water to avoid drawing discoloured water or accumulated material into the home’s internal plumbing.
We ask residents to set aside tap water for use while water service is interrupted. If you experience discoloured water when swabbing is finished in your area, run cold water until the water runs clear. For anyone experiencing discoloured water two hours after flushing has been completed, low water pressure, or no water at all, please contact Oxford County at 1-800-755-0394 ext. 3915 or publicworks@oxfordcounty.ca
