Oxford County and the Afro-Caribbean Business Network officially broke ground today on a new affordable housing development at 175 Springbank Avenue North in Woodstock.

Members of the Afro-Caribbean Business Network, project partners and Oxford County gathered to mark the start of construction on the 45-unit residential apartment building, which will include 23 affordable housing units dedicated to supporting seniors, single women, and women with children.

The development represents another step forward in addressing local housing needs and increasing access to safe, affordable housing options across Oxford County.

Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan, City of Woodstock and Oxford County Councillor Jerry Acchione, and Afro-Caribbean Business Network Executive Director Ryan Knight spoke of the needed investment in the community and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to address housing challenges.

Occupancy is anticipated to begin in Spring/Summer 2028.
