Beachville Museum baseball-making experience named an Ontario Southwest signature experience

Oxford County now features seven of the 17 signature experiences from Ontario Southwest Tourism Association
Oxford Tourism is pleased to announce that Beachville Museum’s Hands-on-Heritage: A Historic Baseball-Making Experience has been named a signature experience by the Ontario Southwest Tourism Association.
Although baseball is often considered America’s favourite pastime, the first recorded game was played in Beachville, Oxford County, in 1838. This hands-on experience begins with a tour of the Beachville Museum’s baseball history exhibit, where visitors can explore historic equipment and learn about that first game. Participants then take part in a workshop making their own lemon-peel baseball, like they made in the 1800’s. Once complete, players can try playing the game with the ball they made.
