Annual fall watermain flushing begins September 16, 2026
Annual fall watermain flushing begins in Oxford County on Wednesday, September 16 at 8:00 a.m., starting in Drumbo and Princeton. Flushing is expected to be complete across the County by Monday, November 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
When watermains are flushed, customers may experience discoloured water or sediment in the areas being flushed. We ask residents to set aside tap water for use to avoid drawing discoloured water into their pipes. If you still experience discoloured water when the flushing is finished in your area, run cold water until the water runs clear. For anyone experiencing discoloured water two hours after flushing has been completed, low water pressure, or no water at all, please contact Oxford County at 1-800-755-0394 ext. 3915 or publicworks@oxfordcounty.ca.
To help residents better prepare for flushing in their community, Oxford County has developed an interactive map to track where flushing crews are in the County: try it out at www.oxfordcounty.ca/watermainflushing
