POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists with the provision of library services by performing various library and public service functions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with the provision of services to the public – including circulation, patron registration, provision of information, simple reference, readers' advisory, cash receipts, photocopying, faxing/scanning, computer centre support, and collections maintenance.

Opens and/or closes the building. May be senior staff in charge in the absence of the Branch Supervisor, e.g. some evenings and Saturday shifts.

May be responsible for the provision of Outreach (Home Delivery) services, and for overseeing and scheduling program volunteers.

Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate. University or college education preferred.

Experience in customer service. Previous library experience preferred.

Excellent communications skills.

Must be able to work effectively and positively with the public and staff.

Excellent computer skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Works in a library environment with all ages.
2. Physical activities include long periods of standing, carrying bins of books, lifting/moving tables and chairs.
