Transitions Equine named an official Signature Experience for the Southwest Region

Oxford Tourism is proud to announce that Transitions Equine has been officially named one of Southwest Ontario’s Signature Experiences—an honour that recognizes immersive, engaging tourism offerings that meet high standards for visitor experience.

Located just outside of Tavistock, Transitions Equine is a peaceful equine facility, offering unique wellness and learning experiences through horse-assisted activities. These programs focus on personal growth, leadership, and emotional well-being—not through riding, but through guided, objective-based interactions with horses. Visitors can also enjoy the “Farm Pass” experience, which includes light shopping, artisan goods, and time spent with the horses in a tranquil rural setting.

On July 8, 2025, Ontario’s Southwest announced three new additions to its Signature Experience collection, bringing the total to 15. Of those, an impressive seven are located in and around Oxford County—further establishing the region as a hub for authentic, hands-on travel experiences.

This milestone underscores Oxford County’s leadership in experiential tourism. With the recent addition of Transitions Equine, Oxford Tourism has supported the development of seven local experiences, recognized for their immersive, visitor-focused offerings:

  • Berrylicious Fruit Farm
  • Grand Experiences
  • Makkink’s Flower Farm
  • Otter Creek Woodworks
  • Thames River Melons
  • Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life
  • Transitions Equine

Oxford County’s strong representation in the Signature Experiences program is the product of Ontario’s Southwest Experiential Development Training, a program that helps tourism operators craft engaging, story-driven visitor experiences. The training will be offered again this fall; interested businesses are encouraged to contact Emma Rowley at Ontario’s Southwest for more details (emma@swotc.ca).
