POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Clinical Services provides strategic clinical leadership and oversight across the home, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident- and family centred care. Supporting the Administrator, the Manager of Clinical Services serves as a key clinical resource and partner in advancing regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and best practices in long term care. Provides leadership and direction among nursing departments, ensuring coordinated clinical services and consistent standards of practice across the Home.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the Clinical Lead supporting all clinical operations in Long Term-Care Homes.
- Member of the Woodingford Lodge Senior Leadership Team
- Supports the Senior Leadership Team, Directors of Care, and home leadership teams in fostering compliance with Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) standards, including the development of clinical policies and action plans.
- Provides guidance during inspections with the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC), Ministry of Labour, and Public Health, review findings and lead in the development and monitoring of corrective actions.
- In conjunction with the homes Director, Administrator and Finance team, monitor NPC (Nursing and Personal Care) envelope spending and participate in capital planning.
- Act as a resource to skin and wound care, responsive behaviours program, falls prevention programs, and all other quality initiatives.
- Directs nursing and quality education initiatives and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of all clinical programs aligned with the Strategic Plan objectives of the home.
- Provides mentorship and leadership to support clinical leaders.
- Chairs the Professional Advisory Committee.
- Oversee the quality management systems with a focus on innovation, performance measures, best practices and resident-centered care.
- Oversee the implementation of the RNAO Best Practice initiatives, College of Nurses Standards.
- Ensures readiness for Accreditation across all clinical programs.
- Support the organization’s programs and services by promoting the County’s Strategic Plan, best practices, internal policies, and applicable legislation, to meet service excellence standards and uphold Oxford’s vision, mission and values.
- Direct and second-removed supervisory responsibilities including hiring, performance and attendance management, coaching, mentoring and professional development of non-union employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, Nursing (Master’s degree preferred).
- Demonstrated senior level management experience within health care or a public sector environment. Experience working within long-term care or a municipal facility is an asset, including working with Provincial leaders in the Long Term Care health sector.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Completion of a long term care management certificate an asset.
- Proven success developing strategic directions, managing compliance and leading high performance teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver programs, services, and outcomes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytic and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to the Continuous Quality improvement and resident centered philosophy.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
