POSITION SUMMARY
Provides technical support for the operation, maintenance, capital planning, infrastructure upgrades, and asset management of the County’s transportation network. Assist with the coordination of traffic management initiatives, road safety programs, corridor management, and traffic data collection and management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience conducting traffic surveys, traffic signal operation and data collection. Experience utilizing engineering software and data management tools associated with traffic management.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of engineering, GIS and road construction, operation and maintenance concepts.
- Knowledge of relevant trends, best practices, applicable legislation, statues and regulations such as the Highway Traffic Act, Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, Minimum Maintenance Standards, Ontario Traffic Manual and TAC Guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple deadlines and changing priorities while taking direction from multiple individuals.
- Understanding of role specific health and safety responsibilities and ensured compliance with internal and external safety policies, procedures, and legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework.
