POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Resident Programs, develops implements and assesses therapeutic, recreational and physical programs to meet the needs of individual residents. Performs all duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and value statements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary education in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or other related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution or another jurisdiction if equivalent. An equivalent combination of skill, knowledge and experience may be considered. Current certification in both C.P.R. and Standard First Aid. Current Food Handler certification. Good observation and reporting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal compassionately with the elderly. Proficient computer skills. Ability to travel to all 3 sites.
