Canada Post service disruption - September 2025

All Canada Post mail delivery has been paused due to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) national strike. This impacts some Oxford County services.  
 

Garbage bag tags

Bag tags continue to be available during the postal strike at municipal offices and authorized retail locations across Oxford County, such as convenience stores, grocery stores and gas stations. However, online purchases will not be processed during the strike. For a list of current vendors selling Oxford County bag tags, visit www.oxfordcounty.ca/bagtags. Vendors who sell bag tags can continue to order tags for courier delivery by calling the County at 519-539-9800 ext. 3915 or by email at customerservice@oxfordcounty.ca.

 

Water backflow tags

Online water backflow tag purchases will not be processed during the strike, and current online orders may be delayed. Backflow tags can be purchased in person at the Oxford County Administration Building at 21 Reeve Street in Woodstock or by calling 519-539-9800 ext. 3915. 

 

Human Services - Ontario Works

For anyone expecting Ontario Works by mail, please call 519-539-9800, ext. 3390, or visit the Human Services office at 21 Reeve Street in Woodstock. As previously communicated, pick-up is arranged for Monday, September 29, 2025, at your local office.

 

Community Planning

Public meeting schedules and associated notice requirements will not be affected. The public is encouraged to stay informed of public meetings and associated notices via the County website at www.oxfordcounty.ca/services-for-you/planning-and-development/development/ or by subscribing to the e-alert system for Planning related information. Any questions can be directed to planning@oxfordcounty.ca

 

Provincial Offences

Provincial Offences Administration clients are encouraged to use electronic options to make payments, file requests and documents, or to contact Provincial Offences team members. For more information, visit www.oxfordcounty.ca/POA

If you are an Oxford County vendor who submits or receives payment by mail, please email accountspayable@oxfordcounty.ca for other options.

If you are an Oxford County customer who sends payment by mail to 21 Reeve Street, Woodstock, please email ar@oxfordcounty.ca for other options. 

 

Oxford County Library

Interlibrary loan services are temporarily suspended. The interlibrary loan service allows for borrowing materials from libraries across Ontario. All other library services remain uninterrupted. 

 

Tourism

Printed visitor information package requests will not be processed during the strike. Consumers are encouraged to visit www.tourismoxford.ca for online information or to contact tourism@oxfordcounty.ca for assistance developing a custom travel itinerary.
