Boil water advisory issued for Oxford South (Norwich, Otterville, Springford)
A boil water advisory has been issued by the Southwestern Public Health Medical Officer of Health for all residents connected to the Oxford South municipal water system (Norwich, Otterville, Springford).
Until further notice, Public Health advises residents to boil their tap water or use bottled water for drinking, making infant formula or juice, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing their teeth.
To use boiled water, Public Health recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute then allowing it to cool. It may then be stored in clean containers.
This advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure after a water sample from the Norwich Water Tower had microbiological lab results indicating that the test was inconclusive for E. Coli and Total Coliform due to non-target bacterial overgrowth. Oxford County investigates all instances of adverse water quality.
