POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the delivery of staff education programs through the facilitation of ongoing
orientation and training sessions, to support continuous learning throughout Woodingford
Lodge.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provides support for the following programs:
- Surge Learning
- New Hire, Student and Volunteer Orientation
- RAI/POC Sessions
- Student Recruitment
- In home Education
- Emergency Code Education and Planning
- Maintains in house system platforms to ensure records are accurately input and updated accordingly including password maintenance.
- Education support for Point of Care (POC), Point Click Care (PCC) and Pharmacy training for new hires with the support of the Supervisor of Quality.
- Supports Woodingford Lodge’s learning and development program by organizing sessions, maintaining educational registrations and training records.
- Annually checking Registered staff members are registered with the CNO and update their skill profile on system platform.
- Creation of monthly education boards to ensure staff are being educated on areas of need.
- Ensures continuous quality improvement through the maintenance of records, reports and program statistics to support education program evaluation.
- Supports the student and volunteer placement program with recruitment, orientation, onboarding and administrative functions, including applying for applicable funding opportunities.
- Assists with the organization of annual education sessions.
- Provides travelling education sessions in home areas including topical cream application, POC, PCC, RAI and UCP training etc.
- Support completion of audits as assigned including and not limited to med pass audits.
- Provides hands on training during the orientation process (ie. Lift & Transfer, Oxygen Filling)
- Understanding of role specific health and safety responsibilities, and ensured compliance with internal and external safety policies, procedures, and legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Stewardship of new hires, assist with onboarding, follow up support and maintenance of orientation check lists, which includes sending all orientation documents to Human Resources.
- Support educational and quality improvement outcomes, which align with the accreditation process.
- Support the Mask Fit testing program for new hires and provide ongoing support as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
- Position requires completion of a Registered Nurse (RN) diploma and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Post Secondary or Certification in Education, Adult education/Training or related field is an asset.
- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, database management, e-mail and the internet.
- Maintain annual RAI-MDS certificate completion and other educational requirements to fulfil the work outlined
- Knowledge of general office procedures and office equipment, such as scanner, fax machine and photocopier.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and a vehicle with insurance is required
