POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for collaborating with various partners, committees and agencies to successfully facilitate and implement the provincially legislated Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and coordinate the following:
- Meet with committee members and community stakeholders on various initiatives.
- Monitor progress and provide updates to key stakeholders.
- Ongoing community engagement and collaboration.
- Data collection, sharing and reporting.
- Research, analyze, and assess data and information related to the CSWB Plan’s priority areas and make recommendations for the implementation of related service needs and gaps.
- Support the work of the Advisory Committee and Action Tables, working collaboratively with a range of organizations in Oxford County including representatives from the area municipalities, police, healthcare, education, social services and others.
- Act as the primary contact and provide information to the public and external agencies on matters related to the CSWB plan.
- Provide administrative support and facilitate meetings with the Situation Table and Femicide Prevention Table, to address situations with individuals facing elevated levels of risk. Working with community organizations to develop immediate, coordinated, and integrated responses through the mobilization of resources and services.
- Share information and connect various partners when necessary to support the goals and objectives of the CSWB plan.
- Facilitate and support the development of community networks and partnerships. Create communication pathways that encourage transparency, continuous feedback, and meaningful stakeholder participation.
- Assist with writing funding proposals for submission to government and/or other potential funders as necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and provincial partners, and decision makers; cultivating long-term collaboration and shared accountability.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and related correspondence. Attends and participates at County and Area Municipal Council meetings as necessary.
- Engage with the public, especially in our rural areas and within priority groups, to help inform service and community needs. Have an awareness of relevant events and opportunities for community engagement. Promote participation, foster trust, and create inclusive spaces where all voices are valued and heard.
- Provides input and forecasting in the divisional business plan and budget process and ensures projects and initiatives are within the approved budget.
- Work with internal and external partners to develop public awareness/educational campaigns and communication strategies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Services, or related field.
- Progressive experience facilitating meetings and collaborating relationships among diverse community partners, stakeholders, and organizations. Experience within a municipal setting is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver programs, services, and outcomes.
- Ability to use a strategic approach and connect information from multiple sources to identify linkages, opportunities, and coordinated solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant trends and best practices, legislation and regulations, as they relate to this position.
