The Great Pumpkin Rescue returns to Oxford County
Wondering what to do with your porch pumpkins, squash, or gourds after Halloween?
Why not rescue them? Zero Waste Oxford supports the Great Pumpkin Rescue every year in Oxford County. The Great Pumpkin Rescue ensures leftover pumpkins, squash and gourds are given a second life and diverted from the landfill to be repurposed into community meals and feed for livestock.
Pumpkins, squash and gourds being donated to livestock must have:

- No rot or rust
- No plastic
- No metal
- No wax
Drop off your pumpkins at any of the following locations between November 1-6:

Pumpkin Pick Up in Thamesford
Thamesford Minor Hockey U13 players will be picking up pumpkins for donation on Sunday November 2 and 9, 2025. Please send a message with your name, address and preferred date to Kaisu at 905-541-2441 to arrange for pickup. All donations will be brought to local farms.
