Future Oxford Speaker Series returns with sessions focusing on greener homes and energy management in the private sector

Get Smart! Learn from local smart energy experts” is the latest installment of the Future Oxford Speaker Series.

The fall speaker series features two free in-person seminars on September 20 and 21, where attendees will learn how to reduce energy costs and lower their carbon footprint at home and in the workplace.

Organized by Smart Energy Oxford, in partnership with the Future Oxford and Oxford County Library, the presentations will focus on two themes:

  1. Energy audits for greener homes. This session will explore ways to find energy savings in your home to help lower your energy bills and reduce your climate impact. Partner and Senior Energy Engineer at Walter-Fedy, Patrick Darby, will lead this discussion with South-West Oxford Mayor David Mayberry as they outline the steps for conducting an energy audit in your home.
  1. Fundamentals of energy management in the private sector.  Energy Analyst at Vuteq Canada Inc., Edwin Kow, and Director of Capital Projects at Woodstock Hospital, Chris Marion, will lead this presentation on how energy management has become increasingly important to businesses as they aim to manage their bottom line and decrease their carbon footprint. Attendees will learn about the fundamentals of energy management and how to manage energy use at their facility.

The speaker events are free of charge with online registration and will showcase how Oxford County residents and businesses are leading the way when it comes to building a more sustainable future.
