Election of Deputy Warden

County Council will elect a new Deputy Warden on December 13 for a one-year term. The election of the Deputy Warden, who assumes the responsibilities of the Warden if absent, is decided before the start of each new year in a given Council term. In 2023, the role of Deputy Warden has been held by Jerry Acchione, Mayor of Woodstock.

Consideration of the 2024 Business Plan and Budget

Oxford County Council will consider the Draft 2024 Business Plan and Budget for approval on December 13. The 2024 budget responds to rising costs for supplies, construction and insurance, as well as increasing demand for municipal services that follows rapid growth in Oxford’s communities. This encompasses programs and services that address homelessness, the need for affordable housing, provincially mandated changes to long-term care, paramedic services, road safety, and public works infrastructure. County Councillors have brought forward 13 notices of motion for more information, action, additions, or changes to the budget to be discussed at next week’s meeting.
