Tourism Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY 

To provide administrative and clerical support to the Manager of Tourism in the 
CAO/Clerk’s Department.  Goal is to maintain accurate records and communicate 
information to both the visiting public and to the tourism industry within Oxford County. 
Maintain data and provide support with customer service, reporting, and communication.

  •  Maintain databases and generate reports (renewals, invoicing, collections, 
    partnerships, agreements). 
  • Budget tracking for Manager of Tourism review.
  • Support maintenance of online content
  • Working with Tourism Team and partners organizing and coordinating various 
    aspects of special events.  
  • Customer service by phone, correspondence, and in person (meetings & 
    events).  
  • Assist with Tourism Oxford website business listings and events. 
  • Preparing, requesting, and assisting with review of quotes for services.  
  • Assist with brochure distribution 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS 

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered 
    focusing on computerized word processing, spreadsheet, and database. 
  • College education in travel and tourism is beneficial but not mandatory 
  • Continual software upgrading courses. 
  • Strong grasp of computer software in Microsoft Word and Excel and online 
    software solutions 
  • Strong written and verbal communication. 
  • Coordination skills for projects and events.  
  • Strong data organization skills. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Ability to perform in a multi-tasked environment and ability to remain flexible. 
  • Knowledge of Oxford County. 
  • Ability to demonstrate the required core and leadership competencies for this 
    position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework. 
  • Core competencies include teamwork, communication, innovation, service 
    excellence, accountability and integrity, and inclusivity. 


WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Working in an office environment, interfacing with the public. 
  • Out in the field at tourism businesses and events
