Food Service Worker (FSW): $31.40/hr to start


Cook: $33.73/hr to start (these 2025 hourly rates include 14% in lieu of benefits)

MAIN DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Nutritional Services:

  • FSW: Helps prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with the resident's diet requirements at meal times, sets and clears dining rooms, is responsible for the washing of all dishes, silverware, pots and pans, the preparation of vegetables and assisting with serving in dining rooms. Performs all duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and value statements.
  •  Cook: Prepares food for three meals per day for all residents and assumes some duties of the Supervisor of Food Services in their absence. Prepares, cooks, bakes and serves a variety of food from a planned menu and gives direction to staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FSW: Ability to understand both written and verbal communication, good interpersonal skills, and skilled in
    the use of personal computers and related software applications. Food Service Worker certificate is an
    asset. Will consider experience in institutional healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • Cook: Must have Institutional, Healthcare or Restaurant cooking experience. Culinary Management, Chef training or Red Seal preferred.
  • Must have current Food Handler certificate.
