One-day closure is needed to complete installation of new scale and scale house 

Please be advised that Oxford County’s Waste Management Facility will be closed to the public on Saturday, January 14, as crews work to complete installation and changeover to a new scale and scale house at the Salford Road site.

The newly constructed 80’ scale is designed to improve traffic flow by separating incoming and outgoing loads. Oxford County weighs all vehicles that enter and exit the Waste Management Facility and applies a tipping fee to loads not eligible for free waste diversion programs and recycling. In the past, all vehicles were weighed on the same scale, but the new scale allows for separate lanes of traffic, which will significantly reduce customer wait times.

Staff would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding throughout the construction period. The new scale and scale house should be in operation when the Waste Management Facility resumes regular operating hours on Monday, January 16.
