Phase 2 – Kintore to 27th Line (Zorra Township)

About the project

Oxford County has awarded a contract to Oxford Civil Group Inc. to reconstruct and widen the road and right-of-way on Oxford Road 16 between Oxford Road 119 and 27th Line in Zorra Township. Additionally, the box culvert located between 23rd Line and 25th Line will be removed and replaced. The reconstruction work includes removal and replacement of existing road makeup, ditch re-alignment and improvements to local storm drainage.

Construction begins in April 2024 and is expected to be completed in September 2024. Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change based on contractor availability and other operational demands.

What you need to know

Due to the reconstruction work and the box culvert replacement, Oxford Road 16 will be entirely closed to through traffic. Access for local traffic will be provided. During replacement of the box culvert, access for local traffic will still be provided, but only from one direction. As such, Oxford County, in consultation with emergency services, has put in place a detour route.

The contractor will be required to maintain access as best as possible to all properties. Some short-term interruptions and delays can be expected during this work and will be communicated to impacted residents in advance.

Detour: Oxford Road 119 and Oxford Road 6 to Oxford Road 28.

To ensure waste collection can continue, the contractor will collect homeowner bins and containers and take them to a central location for collection. Property owners are asked to mark garbage and recycling containers with their house number so they can be returned to the correct property.
