Oxford County has activated a new pedestrian signal at the Oxford Road 35 (Devonshire Avenue), Brompton Avenue, and Blossom Park Road intersection in the City of Woodstock.

The crossing will improve road safety for pedestrians and includes a set of stop signals. The stop signals activate when pedestrians push the button. The adjacent side streets, Brompton Ave and Blossom Park Road will continue to be controlled by stop signs.

Drivers and cyclists must yield to pedestrians when the signal is activated by stopping behind the pavement markings and waiting until pedestrians have completely crossed the road and the signal has changed to green before proceeding. Failing to do so could result in a fine of up to $1,000 and four (4) demerit points.

Construction at the (Devonshire Avenue), Brompton Avenue, and Blossom Park Road intersection started in July and is now complete. This work also included sidewalk ramp improvements, street lighting upgrades, landscaping and restoration. Read the public notice for this project.
