2023 Business Plans and Budget

County Council will be asked to approve the updated 2023 Business Plans and Budget on January 11. The proposed 2023 budget, which has been updated to reflect new information received since it was circulated in early November, would require $70.6 million to be funded through the County’s general share of municipal property taxes (a 6% increase over 2022). If approved, the owner of an average-valued residential property will pay $29 more in property tax, an increase of 2.8% over 2022.

The proposed 2023 Budget includes a capital plan of $84.1 million to maintain County infrastructure and plan for future growth. It also includes $361,669 in grant requests from community organizations, which would increase the budget by $67,169 more than 2022 approved grants.

Opioid exposure and overdose prevention

Oxford County brings forward an opioid exposure and overdose prevention policy next Council meeting. With numerous County services to the public interacting with populations at high risk for overdose—including in Human Services, Housing, Oxford County Library, Public Works, and at the Oxford County Administration Building— the policy will provide information and emergency response guidance to employees who could discover suspected overdose or are themselves at risk of accidental exposure.
