A boil water advisory has been issued by the Medical Officer of Health for Hickson residents connected to the municipal water supply. Oxford County staff are collecting samples and working with Southwestern Public Health and will notify impacted residents when they can return to normal use.

Under a boil water advisory, residents should boil their tap water or use bottled water for drinking, making infant formula and juices, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing their teeth until they receive further notice.

To use boiled water, Public Health recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute then allowing it to cool. It may then be stored in clean containers.
