Local listing of food, gift and clothing drives lets people know how to give and get help

Holiday Sharing GuideNow in its 12th year, the Holiday Sharing Guide for Oxford County is online and updated for 2022 at www.informationoxford.ca.

The Holiday Sharing Guide offers a comprehensive listing of gift and clothing drives, hot meal and food programs, shelters, emergency help, and seasonal community events like the Santa Clause parades (including information on cancellations). The Guide is organized around options to “give help,” either by donating time, funds or items, or to “get help,” by accessing programs offered by community organizations, charities, and local churches.

As an online resource, the Holiday Sharing Guide is easily viewed on a personal computer, tablet or mobile device, and can also be printed from any device. All of the information listed in the guide is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by visiting InformationOxford.ca or calling 211 Ontario (dial 2-1-1).

The Holiday Sharing Guide is a collaboration between Oxford County, InformationOxford.ca, 211 Ontario, and United Way Oxford.

Kelly Gilson, Executive Director, United Way of Oxford

“Rising rents, food prices and interest rates have put many families in a difficult situation this year, some for the first time. If you are fortunate enough to be in a position to donate, please consider supporting one of the community services listed in the Holiday Sharing Guide. And, if you are in need of a little helping hand this year, please reach out, as the programs are here to provide support. You can also watch for information on local agencies as part of United Way Oxford’s 12 Days of Giving.”
