Oxford County Grants Program

Oxford County’s Grants Program awards funding each year to non-profit organizations that serve to support and advance the Oxford County Strategic Plan or the Safe and Well Oxford Plan.
The application period for the Grants Program begins May 1 each year and closes August 31, with funding decisions announced in January of the following year.
For questions about the program, please email clerksoffice@oxfordcounty.ca or call 519-539-9800.
Local non-profit organizations may submit applications to the Oxford County Grants Program for programs or activities that address a community-identified need and demonstrate community involvement.
Grant applications are evaluated by the Grant Approval Committee based on a number of criteria, including:
- ability to execute the proposal;
- benefit, need and impact for the community;
- detailed budgeting and access to other funding sources if needed;
- project readiness; and,
- financial need.
This information is collected through the application form. Applicants may be contacted if further information or clarification is needed.
If you are applying to the Grants Program, please make sure you review the policy for information about eligible expenses (e.g., outreach activities, advertising, materials, salaries/wages, equipment) and ineligible expenses (fundraising support, hospital or medical treatment, renovations/construction, vehicles, donor recognition, support for private/commercial projects, etc.). Read this section in the Oxford County Grants Program Policy
The application period opens May 1 of each year and closes August 31.
The link to the Grants Program application form will be posted to this webpage during the open application period each year. Applicants are required to complete the online application and submit it by the posted deadline.
Please note that late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.
If your project or program is selected to receive funding, you will be notified in January of the following year.
A funding agreement must be signed for all approved applications. As part of this agreement, fund recipients must submit a financial report, explained in the agreement, by March 15 of the year after grant funding is received.
A portion of the funding for Oxford County’s Grants Program will be allocated to proposals from local non-profit agencies that are working to advance specific goals and objectives in the Safe and Well Oxford Plan. The Safe and Well Oxford Advisory Committee may review applications for alignment with the Safe and Well Oxford Plan for consideration of Grant Funding. This process ensures ongoing financial support for the Safe and Well Oxford Plan, which is a collaborative plan established by Oxford County and its eight area municipalities.
If you are Safe and Well Oxford partner, please reach out to the Steering Committee Co-Leads for more information.
