Landfill temporarily closed to residential customers starting April 3
Effective April 3, the landfill at the Waste Management Facility will be temporarily closed to the public (residential customers) for 28 days, or longer if the provincial emergency brake shutdown is extended. The facility will remain open to serve essential businesses and services only (commercial customers), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. | Holidays and hours
Oxford County Library services under shutdown
In-person browsing of all library material will not be permitted during the provincial one-month lockdown. All branches will return to outdoor contactless pick-ups for holds.
Wireless internet access is available outside of all 14 library branches and wireless printing is available from your own device at Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, Norwich, Plattsville, Tavistock and Thamesford. Virtual programs and reader's advisory services remain available.
Public access computers are currently unavailable at all branches. Please check www.ocl.net for updates or email myaccount@ocl.net to set up a library card for access to eBooks, movies, music and more 24/7 from home.
Woodingford Lodge status update
There are currently no active cases of COVID-19 at any Woodingford Lodge site. However, all three locations are closed to general visitors, except designated essential caregivers. Zone-dependent guidelines for visitors, including screening measures and testing requirements, are online here.
Oxford County Paramedics offering new rapid COVID-19 testing
Oxford County Paramedic Services is offering a new COVID-19 rapid testing program to help increase access to testing in symptomatic school-aged children. The program uses ID Now COVID-19 Analyzers which can perform a 15-minute test with definitive results received before patients leave the assessment centre.Testing appointments will be taken through Woodstock Hospital Assessment Centre and booked for testing onsite at Oxford County Paramedic Services – Mill St. Headquarters. EarlyON Child and Family Centres
EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free and engaging programs throughout Oxford County for parents and caregivers with children aged 0-6 years. As a result of the province-wide emergency break shutdown Oxford EarlyON programs and services will continue to be offered virtually only for the duration of the shutdown. Provincial Offences Act court closure extended
Provincial Offences Courts have resumed for limited matters (early resolutions, set date, adjournments, etc.) by audio (telephone) or video (Zoom) appearance only. There will be no in-person or trial court dates until further notice. Shipping charges now apply to online bag tag orders
The extension of free shipping on online bag tags orders (originally set to end on December 31, 2020) ended on February 12. All online orders received moving forward will have shipping fees applied. Bag tags remain available through online purchasing at www.wasteline.ca/bagtags.
Grant applications for the second intake of 2021 Oxford Economic Stimulus Fund are open
Applications are open for the 2021 Oxford Economic Stimulus Fund, a program designed to help local small and medium-sized businesses, not-for-profit groups, and business support organizations recover from the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. County Council during COVID-19
In compliance with the State of Emergency declared by the Province of Ontario due to COVID-19, specifically measures to limit public gatherings and reinforce physical distancing, all Oxford County Council meetings are being held electronically until further notice. Accessing service at Oxford County Administration Building
The Oxford County Administration Building is serving the public by telephone, email, or appointment between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. only. This means the general public will not be allowed to enter the building without a pre-booked appointment except for deliveries. The designated entry point for all pre-booked visits is the Peel Street entrance (south doors). Once you enter for an appointment, you will have to go through a screening process that includes taking your temperature with a touch-free infrared thermometer. You will also be asked to wear a face covering while on site.

If you're a social housing tenant, please note that maintenance repairs will be limited to essential ones that impact safety.
