Community Update: Oxford Road 15 (Parkinson Road)

Bridge Rehabilitation, Left Turn Lane and Pedestrian Crossing

Oxford County has awarded a construction contract to Urban Link Civil to complete bridge rehabilitation work, construct a left turn lane, and install a pedestrian crossing on Parkinson Road immediately east of Ferguson Drive. The work is expected to take place from May 2021 to September 2021.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
There are no road closures or detours planned during this construction. Although lane widths will be reduced within the “construction zone,” two lanes of through traffic will be maintained along Parkinson Road. The Contractor will be required to maintain access to all nearby properties; minimal impact is anticipated in this regard. At this time, minimal or no impact is anticipated to water, sanitary and waste collection services.

COVID-19
Oxford County and all contractors/sub-contractors working on behalf of the County are committed to following the recommended precautionary measures, within other safety imperatives, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The work being undertaken on this
project has been deemed essential to County infrastructure and is considered essential as per the provincial directives and mandates. An Oxford County inspector will be on site periodically performing inspection of contractors work and
monitoring site activities. Oxford County continues to monitor government and public health directives that respond to the evolving
challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
