2020 Large Article Collection Dates and Guidelines

Oxford County can help with the collection of oversize waste

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Set out by 7am on the Monday of your collection week
  • Place no more than one metre from the curb
  • Items must be set out on your property, do not place across the road or in ditches
  • Maximum weight of any item is 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Bag tags are not required for large items

ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL

  • Household furniture including tables and chairs
  • Carpet rolls & under padding (6' maximum, rolled and bundled)
  • Plastic & non-metal laundry tubs
  • Plumbing fixtures (acrylic tubs/sinks)
  • Pool filters (no sand) & pool covers
  • Water softeners (no salt or contents inside)
  • Mattresses & box springs

Set out by 7am on the Monday of your collection week

Please note: The City of Woodstock offers large article pick-up several times throughout the year, and the Town of Tillsonburg operates a year-round transfer station to receive large articles.

Unacceptable Material

  • Regular household garbage & recycling
  • Glass & mirrors
  • Leaf & yard waste
  • Electronics (computers, televisions)
  • Scrap metal
  • Loose materials in cardboard boxes
  • Tires
  • Automotive parts
  • Items piled on trailers or wagons
  • Construction, demolition & building material (concrete, toilets)
  • Freon containing units (fridges, freezers, air conditioners)
  • Hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, propane tanks)
  • Appliances (washers, dryers, stoves)
  • Items that can be broken down and placed in a garbage bag

THINK BEFORE YOU THROW

Your garbage bin or the landfill isn’t the only option. Many items can be donated, sold, or upcycled.
