Personalized music enhances the quality of life of residents at Woodingford Lodge

Music can play a powerful role in people’s lives. With the introduction of the Music & Memory program at Woodingford Lodge, we are seeing how personalized music can soothe the soul, making a difference for those living with Alzheimer’s disease, other types of dementia, physical limitations, depression and anxiety. We're excited to launch a new video that shares positive program effects including improvement in responsive behaviours, enhanced quality of life and reduced boredom for our residents. For more details read our news release, and view our new video below!

You are invited to join for our official video launch and screening of the Sundance Award Winning film Alive Inside on Tuesday, December 13 at 6:15 p.m. The event is free, however donations to the Music & Memory program will be gratefully accepted.

Making a 'BALD' statement

Woodingford Lodge resident Judy Crane made a ‘BALD' statement on November 10, 2016. Judy pledged to shave her head if she received $500 in donations for the United Way of Oxford. Surpassing her wildest expectations, she raised $1,237! As promised, Judy shaved her head at Woodingford lodge amidst lots of cheers and fanfare from the staff and residents alike!

Outdoor Campfire for residents

On Wednesday, Sept. 21 Woodingford Lodge residents, family members, staff and volunteers gathered around an outdoor campfire beside the community garden for some songs, roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. The Woodstock Fire Department was also on hand to enjoy the event, while ensuring the event went off safely.

Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make the evening possible!
