Emergency Child Care - Update

A complete list of approved emergency child care sites in Oxford County can be found here: Winter 2022 Emergency Child Care

On January 4, 2022 the Ontario government announced that it will provide free emergency child care for school-aged children for eligible essential workers. This follows the province’s decision to close all elementary and secondary schools, publicly-funded and private, for in-person learning.

Please note:

  • Eligibility for Emergency Child Care: Provincial List of Essential Workers
  • Applications are made directly to the child care providers
  • If it is a two parent/guardian home they both must be working at their work site (not at home) and be on the list of Eligible Essential Workers
  • Spaces are very limited
