Multi-Use Trail Construction

Zenda Line to Base Line

Oxford County has awarded two contracts to construct a multi-use trail along a former rail corridor between Zenda Line and Base Line in South-West Oxford Township and Norwich Township. Lonhix Construction will construct the trail between Zenda Line and Middletown Line, and Allan’s Excavating Inc. will construct the trail between Middletown Line and Base Line. The work includes grading of existing ballast material and placement, grading and compaction of new limestone screenings.

Trail construction is anticipated to occur between August 15 – September 30, 2016.

Trail Use

This former railway corridor continues to be closed to the public. No trespassing will be allowed along any part of the corridor until the trail is fully complete and opened for public use. Each contractor will erect signs in the area of their construction as they progress along the trail.

Following the trail construction, fencing will be erected where appropriate and gates will be installed at trail heads.

A public notice will be issued and signage will be installed when the trail has been opened for public use.
