Annual Holiday Sharing Guide released
Local listing of food, gift and clothing drives lets people know how to give and get help
Now in its eighth year, the Holiday Sharing Guide for Oxford County is in a new online format to make it easier and faster to get up-to-date information on where to give and get help this holiday season.
The Holiday Sharing Guide, a collaboration between Oxford County, InformationOxford.ca, 211 Ontario, and United Way Oxford, offers a comprehensive listing of gift and clothing drives, hot meal and food programs, and related community events, like collections through Oxford County’s Santa Claus parades. The Guide is organized around options to “give help,” either by donating time, funds or items, or “get help,” by accessing programs offered by community organizations, charities, and local churches.
As an online resource, the Holiday Sharing Guide is easily viewed on a personal computer, tablet or mobile device, and can also be printed from any device. The information in the Guide can also be accessed by calling 211 Ontario (dial 2-1-1).

Kelly Gilson, Executive Director, United Way of Oxford
“The reality is that for many Oxford County residents, the holiday season deepens challenges already faced over the rest of the year. People living in poverty—many of whom are ‘working poor’—may not know where to turn for help. We’re asking the community to help share the information in the Guide so that people who need help can benefit, and people who have help to offer can see where they are needed.”
