Multi-use recreational trail from Norwich to Tillsonburg

County Council will consider on July 10 a proposal to lease former railway corridor lands owned by Oxford County to a Norwich-based community partnership seeking to develop a multi-use recreational trail from Norwich to Tillsonburg. The plan, which was approved by Township of Norwich Council, is subject to certain conditions and would require County staff to solicit and consider any potential community concerns before a formal partnership agreement comes forward for final approval. The project targets a 2020 implementation date and, if approved, would add approximately 15 km to the County’s overall trail network in a manner that is consistent with the objectives of the County’s 2019 Transportation Master Plan and 2014 Trails Master Plan.

Watermain extension projects

County Council is being asked to authorize funding for two watermain extension projects in Woodstock, one on Oxford Road 17 and one on Oxford County 11th Line. The projects will provide water services to properties not on municipal services and address servicing needs for new development lands.
