Temporary location for Tillsonburg Public Library opens January 2
Plans to modernize Tillsonburg Public Library kick off in three weeks when the Library officially joins the Oxford County system
A temporary location for Tillsonburg Public Library will open on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, ensuring that library services continue to be available to residents until a permanent location opens in the spring.
Located at 164 Broadway Avenue, Unit 6, the temporary location will offer borrowing and lending services, a browsing collection, and public access computers. Tillsonburg residents can apply for an Oxford County Library card at the Tillsonburg Public Library after January 1 or now at any of the Oxford County Library’s 13 branches.
When the new Tillsonburg Public Library opens in the spring of 2013, it will offer expanded library services and programming, better access to technology, and an interior design that aims to establish the Library as a welcoming community hub.
Drawing on feedback from customer surveys this fall and the public design sessions held in October, the new design will boast features that are friendly to people of all ages, such as a study space for students, accessible shelving throughout for seniors and those with physical challenges, and a brighter, more comfortable reading area with a hot beverage machine.
Oxford County Library’s 13 branches are located in Brownsville, Burgessville, Embro, Harrington, Ingersoll, Innerkip, Mount Elgin, Norwich, Otterville, Plattsville, Princeton, Tavistock, Thamesford and, effective January 1, Tillsonburg.
