Food recall information
IMPORTANT FOOD SAFETY UPDATE
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is investigating E.coli in certain frozen beef products.
Since the investigation began there have been recalls for more than 135 ground beef and steakette products. There has been at least one illness due to E. coli 0157:H7 to date.

Remember:
- Raw ground beef should always be considered to be possibly contaminated with harmful bacteria.
- Cooking raw hamburger to 71 C will destroy e.coli O157:H7, along with any other bacteria.

Public access to inspection reports
Members of the public may request a
copy of the most recent inspection report on file for a restaurant, take-out, retail outlet or other food premises. In 2012, Oxford County Public Health will launch a new website that allows people to access this information online.
