2016 Annual Summary

Septic Smart Oxford logo

Oxford County Public Health & Emergency Services has managed the on-site sewage system approval for Oxford County for over 50 years.

As the principal authority, Oxford County Public Health & Emergency Services is required to prepare an annual report that contains information regarding any fees authorized under clause 7(1)(c) of the Building Code Act, along with the costs of administering and enforcing the Act.

The on-site sewage systems program operates on a fee for service model. Under the Ontario Building Code Act, the total amount of the fees authorized must not exceed the anticipated costs to enforce the Act. Profits from the program must be placed in a reserve fund for future years. It is expected that the on-site sewage systems program be financially self-sustaining.

Below is a summary of the 2016 financial statement of on-site sewage systems activities, including issuance of permits and collection of fees, as required under section 7.(4) of the Building Code Act.
