Some Oxford County services are making interim changes in response to Ontario’s temporary move to Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen, effective January 5, 2022. This has included returning to curbside service for Oxford County Library branches and virtual service for Oxford County Archives, closing the Waste Management Facility on Saturdays, and pausing general visits and social outings at Woodingford Lodge.

Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock in outbreak status for COVID-19

All three Woodingford Lodge sites are in COVID-19 outbreak status. Woodingford Lodge sites remained closed to general visitors under the Government of Ontario's temporary measures for all long-term care homes. 

Oxford County Library returning to curbside service

Effective January 5, all 14 branches of Oxford County Library will be open for curbside service only. This means: 

  • No in-person browsing at library branches.
  • Materials and resources must be reserved for pick-up by calling or emailing your local branch, reserving online at, or emailing Before arriving to pick up your items, patrons are asked to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, wear a 3-ply mask, and stay at least six feet (2 metres) apart from others.
  • Items can be returned to library drop boxes at any time.

Oxford County Waste Management Facility remains closed on Saturdays temporarily

The landfill at the Waste Management Facility in Salford will remain closed on Saturdays to all customers until February 21, 2022. This extended but temporary measure will help alleviate staff shortages due to illness and isolation requirements for COVID-19 and reduce potential exposure to the virus. These restrictions will be reassessed in 21 days to align with the provincial reopening plan. The landfill remains open for 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres pausing outdoor activities

EarlyON is pausing its Outdoor Adventurer programs for the month of January. In the meantime, EarlyON is increasing Virtual Village programs to offer more opportunities to connect from the comfort of homes. For more information visit the Oxford EarlyON website or follow on Facebook.


Archives open by appointment only

Oxford County Archives is open by appointment only. Please contact the Archives to book an appointment during the hours of Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Appointments must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Archives staff is also available to respond to reference questions remotely at To access the County’s online research resources visit

County Council meeting virtually in January

The January 12 and January 26 County Council meetings will be held virtually under Ontario's Modified Step Two. Council meetings are broadcast live online at The January 12 meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and the January 26 meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Provincial Offences Courts continue through audio and video appearance (Zoom) only. There will be no in-person court appearances until further notice.
